Traveling in Time with Prima ....

Have you seen the Time Traveler collection from Prima?  It is fantastic, rusty browns, mustard yellows, and black.  What an amazing colour combination.  The embellishments for this collection are just as spectacular. I do believe that I bought the whole collection .... parts of it in triplicate!

I've been busy making layouts and a mini album with the collection.

falling in love ....

I'm falling in love with the Seashore collection from Prima ... the colours are perfect for boy projects or girl!  Which is convenient because I have one of each, LOL.

For the embellishments on the tag and the shadow box I used Prima chalk inks to colour.  I also used the chalk inks to colour the mermaids hair and shadow/shade her tail. You can see the shimmer from the metallic chalk inks - stunning in person.

Guess what the shadow box is from?  Give up?  The packaging that the Prima Resins come in!  Talk about up-cycling!

Are you in love with the Sea Shore collection yet?

I am a Pinterest FREAK ...

I love Pinterest as a source of inspiration.  I see a project that I think to myself; hey, I can duplicate that ... I can make that!  And then I call my friend Amber over, and we try and do it ... sometimes better than others.

This time we were re-creating a Pin that a friend of mine sent of some rolled paper flowers.  They looked simple enough, and sure enough they were.  I used plain Bazzil cardstock and for the stems and leaves I used computer paper and sprayed it with some Prima Color Bloom spray (Lime Wedge) and then used the Prima Arbor Sizzix die to cut out the leaves.  In a matter of 2 hours we had made a half dozen blossoms, stems and leaves.  They turned out better than the originals if you ask me!

The CropFest weekend ...

I had the amazing opportunity to attend my first CropFest in Kingston Ontario with some amazing gals that I originally met at Crop & Create in Ottawa two years ago, we became great scrappin' buddies, they are two of my Peeps!  I also invited a long-time friend who has recently gotten into scrapbooking.  The theme was Garden Party - and we were encouraged to get into the theme, which we did with our garden hats, fascinators and tea party dresses.  It was an amazing time;  a full weekend of scrapping - challenges and games but no interruptions, no classes, no schedule; very different from what I had been attending recently.  And don't get me wrong, I love the intensity of full day classes, but I also love to be doing my own thing too.

I got a lot accomplished; 3 layouts, two cards and a mini album.
